Who we are
This policy covers protowofcolumbia.com, the website of Pro-Tow Inc. of Columbia ("Pro-Tow", "we" or "us"). It explains what the website collects and what we do with it.
What we collect
Job applications
When you apply on our careers page, we receive what you enter: your name, phone number, email address, city or ZIP code, the position you want, your years of experience, your previous employer, your driver's license class, how you describe your driving record, any towing certifications, the shifts you can work, when you could start, and anything else you choose to tell us.
Partner inquiries
When you use the form on our partners page, we receive your name, company, phone number, email address, the kind of partnership you're interested in, and your message.
Calls, email and Facebook
If you call, email or message us on Facebook, we receive whatever you share, such as where your vehicle is and what's wrong with it, and we use it to help you. Your phone company, email provider and Facebook handle those messages under their own privacy policies.
Technical information
Like every website, ours is delivered by servers that receive your device's IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for. Our host, Google Firebase, uses this to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We don't use it to identify you.
What we don't collect
The site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics, advertising or social media tracking. When you use one of the forms, the Google Firebase code that saves it may keep a small technical record in your browser, which Google uses to see which versions of its code are in use. It doesn't identify you to us.
How we use it
- To review job applications and contact applicants.
- To answer partner inquiries and set up business accounts.
- To help you when you call, email or message us.
- To keep the website running and secure.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
The job application asks you to describe your driving record in a few words. We don't pull driving records or run background checks through this website. If we need one as part of hiring, we'll ask for your permission separately first.
Who can see it
- Pro-Tow staff who handle hiring and partnerships. Form submissions go into a private database that only signed-in staff can open, and a copy is emailed to them so it gets seen quickly.
- The companies that run parts of this website for us. Google hosts the site, stores form submissions and delivers those emails. For the map on our homepage, OpenStreetMap supplies the map images and unpkg supplies the map code. Their own privacy policies cover what their systems record.
- Anyone we're legally required to share it with, such as under a court order, or when it's needed to protect someone's safety.
No one else.
How long we keep it
- Job applications: up to two years, so we can reach you if another position opens. Then we delete them.
- Partner inquiries: for as long as we're talking or working together.
If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email protowofcola@yahoo.com or call (803)808-0505. We'll reply within 30 days, and we may need to confirm who you are first.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because this site doesn't track you, it works the same whether or not yours does.
Security
Pages and forms travel over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and submissions are stored with Google Firebase, where only signed-in Pro-Tow staff can read them. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive details, such as a Social Security number or bank information, through our forms.
Children
This website isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Other websites
Our pages link to other websites, such as our Facebook page and Google reviews. Once you're there, their privacy policies apply.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
